The Italian American Community Center, Inc. (lACC) is located in the Town of Gates. Its mission is to preserve the Italian-American heritage and culture in the Greater Rochester Area. It is a 501-c3-not-for-profit organization.

The Italian American Community Center is sponsoring a scholar-athlete award

for a deserving male, and female athlete, who will be a senior this coming September, and is planning to pursue a college education upon graduating from high school. Each recipient will receive a $1,000.00 award. To qualify, scholarship applicants must demonstrate achievement in both athletics and academics, display good citizenship, sportsmanship, and rank in the top 10% of their class or possess a GPA above 3.67.

Applicants must currently reside and attend school in the Monroe County area, and have at least one parent who is of Italian descent. Application must be postmarked no later than Saturday, October 10, 2009.

Candidates should submit the completed application to the scholarship committee at the address listed below. All applicants will be notified of their status no later than October 26, 2009. Our scholarship committee requests that a representative of the Italian American Community Center be present at the recipient's high school when the school holds its awards assembly to make the scholarship presentation.

The scholarship recipients will be recognized and must be present at a special dinner, on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Italian American Community Center.
