Rochester Banquet Hall at Italian American Community Center
Rochester’s Italian American Community Center (IACC) has been celebrating Italian American heritage and otherwise serving the community since hundreds of community members raised more than $125,000 to get it built. The building, which is the region’s largest multi-functional center, opened its doors in 1997; five years after the idea had been formed by local Italian Americans. The opening was celebrated by one of the country’s largest Italian American communities; 135,000 live in the Rochester area.
Rochester Banquet Hall for Events
One of this banquet hall’s most popular events is its biweekly lunch, which starts at noon every other Wednesday and costs $13 for members and $14 for non-members. The IACC also hosts special events throughout the year with some of the more memorable ones taking place in connection with Columbus Day and Christmas.
Rochester Weddings, which are held here throughout the year, are also popular events at this Rochester banquet hall. Those who get married here take advantage of customized menus in addition to the beautiful ballroom that is used for the festivities. The IACC’s wedding packages take care of every aspect of the big moment with the lone exception being the cake.
Many who attend weddings and other events here gasp when they see the view from the venue’s luxurious balcony as it overlooks the grand ballroom, which can normally hold up to 280 people.
Of course, weddings aren’t the only major events that take place at this Rochester banquet hall as the IACC also plays host to events such as bachelor and bachelorette parties, bridal showers, baby showers, engagement parties, proms, class reunions and fundraisers.
IACC Location, Staff and Amenities
The IACC is situated in a convenient location for corporate and other events as it’s just 10 minutes from Rochester International Airport as well as easily accessed from much of the Rochester area. The building is home to a number of flexible meeting spaces as well.
All events here are staffed by a complete workforce, including those who serve food that is prepared fresh on that day. An event coordinator is also on site for the event’s duration while Wi-Fi access is provided to those attending. Additionally, multi-media equipment is available should it be necessary while a central speaker system allows those who need to take command of the room to easily do so.
The facility as a whole consists of 27,000 square feet and three floors of gathering places and spaces for these types of events while visitors get to learn more about Italian culture via its educational events and otherwise.
One of the more interesting spots at the IACC is the Richard DiMarco Library, which is located on its second floor. A classroom and dance floor are also on that level. Meanwhile, the IACC’s basement is filled with newspaper clippings that celebrate Italian heritage. Also in the basement is a recreation room and bocce courts; bocce is a sport that was first played in Ancient Rome.
Maps of Italy adorn walls throughout the facility, providing a touching reminder of home for so many who walk through these halls.
